Fees (Don't panic.)

Why a sliding scale?

I use a sliding scale to make my resources available to as many folks as possible. Please reach out to me if you need support and you can’t afford these rates. Why should you care about the sliding scale?

  • If you *can* pay full price, you make it possible for me to provide another family with the support that they need.
  • If you lack access to financial resources, there’s somebody out there making it possible for you to take good care of your child.

That’s called a win-win, baby. We are all in this together, so let’s act like it.

Ethics

I encourage you to review these resources from the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates:

Agreement for Services

Before we meet, I will provide you with an Agreement for Services document. Within that document, you will make two choices:

  • Choice 1. How much of my time will meet your needs?
    • (A) Would you prefer a one-time, one-hour consultation (no additional services will be needed)? or
    • (B) Would you prefer a prepaid 5-hour package (more suited to ongoing or complex situations)? You will receive monthly statements and may renew the 5-hour prepaid package as needed–prior to additional services being rendered. Balances are due upon receipt of the statement.
  • Choice 2: How do you want me to use my time to support your family?
    • (A) Would you prefer a weekly check-in with me (you’re only “using” that one hour a week; this is more of a coaching model); or
    • (B) Do you want me to work independently on your child’s situation? This would include time I spend reviewing records, phone consultations with you, attendance at meetings, e-mail communication, and any and all other services requested or initiated by you.

For all clients, at the initial consultation, I will review records and will ask questions to understand your child’s needs, to learn about your concerns, and to help you identify the next steps in the process. Once a contract is signed, I will send you a monthly statement billing you for any and all time spent on your child’s case, including time spent reviewing records, phone consultations with you, direct communication with your child (at your request), attendance at meetings, e-mail communication, and any and all other services requested or initiated by you.
